Vintage Glamour at Beau Belle Boutique

Looking for a vintage style  dress to brighten up the darkest of days? Look no further than the Beau Belle Boutique, a cute little shop just up from the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. 

I’m a big fan of the Regent for rummaging for original vintage and special finds, and quite often can be a bit of a clothes snob when it comes to reproduction dresses.

However, this little shop is a treasure trove of loveliness.

It’s literally just up from the Winter Gardens, almost opposite the church in St John’s Square. It would be easy enough to miss if you weren’t paying attention. Do focus though, because this shop should definitely be on your list if shopping for something different from the crowd. 

Fifties Reproduction Vintage

Some of the clothes are made on site, with material bought locally.  They also stock many of the big name reproduction vintage brands; Lindy Bop; Hell Bunny; Collectif; Voodoo Vixen and Dancing Days among others. Most of the clothes involve 50s and 40s style, and are perfect for swishing about in. 

Expect 50s style circle skirts with vivacious prints. There is a rack of voluminous petticoats in all colours of the rainbow, as well as a range of kitsch accessories to go along with them.

The shop also caters for the darker, more alternative style of fashion too, with brands such as Jordash and Dark Star offering black lace and dramatic velvet. 

Apparently the Magicians love the shop when they are in town! 

This may be a shop full of 50s styling, but there is nothing of a prissy Stepford wife feel here! Prints are funky and fun, with an eye to flamboyance. Blackpool has no shortage of flamboyant characters of course, and Beau Belle is an ode to fun dressing, inclusivity and joy.

This goes for the lovely staff too. April not only looks amazing, but she knows her stuff, having worked in the vintage scene for years. Sizes are realistic too; they go up to size 26, and can be ordered up to a 32.
